29 April 1948 - a letter from the Postmaster General in Jerusalem to a philatelist in TLV regarding the suspension of sale of Palestine stps. The document proves that at least until this date some Mandate Postal activity took place - the letter was written 9 days after the Siege began & 3 days after the last recorded use of the Mandate pmk; folded, fine, item illust. in JSPS p. 38, Historic doc.
THE ISSUES: 9 MAY 1948 - the original protocol of the meeting that took place on 9 May at the Jewish Agency office in Jerusalem regarding the distribution of the 1st Jerusalem local issue stps w/details of the 4 participants (J. Agency depts & P. Office Heads). Listed are the quantities given to the P. Office delegate during the meeting, orders of the distribution to the 3 Jerus P.O. branches & collecting of the proceeds.
