From Besieged Jerusalem to Besieged Negev - cv sent  to kibbutz Nir Am, in the Besieged Negev, through P.O.Box 2040 Tel Aviv, franked 10 mils Jerusalem 1st issue “Blue on white paper” and cancelled by Minhelet Ha’am postmark 10th of May. The cv was detained in Jerusalem till the first or second convoy, brought to TLV & Flown to the Negev receiving an Army postmark 12 July 48 of  “Misrad 10” of Ruhama. From the 10th of June the Negev was totally cut off, no convoys could pass through until the 31st of July 48. On back Army postmarks of “Base Alef” and “Returned Letter Office” & Return to the Sender 1st Aug 1948; roughly opened at left, fine & Rare

Ha'am (Ba #26) stp tied by Tel Aviv Black M. Ha'am pmk (in use 5 - 14 May), "ON HIS MAJESTY'S SERVICE" imprint was crossed out and "Jewish Army" was written instead; vert centerfold typical for courier cvs, shortend 1cm at left, f-vf & Rare M. 9/1948 Commerc. air mail cv Jerusalem to San Francisco USA frank 15m (5+10m) D. Ivri tabbed stps + 50m M. Ha'am Jerusalem stps of 2nd local issue (5+2x10m +25m) these not accepted as postage, the D. Ivri stps are tied by Jerusalem 2 - 24.9.48 trilingual pmk, a framed cachet "This item is short paid 50 mils it must be fully prepaid before it can be dispatched to destination" was applied on the back. A new 50m 1st Festivals franking of (10+2x20m) was affixed tied by 26.9.48 First Day of Issue pmks, late attempt to use Jerusalem locals on outgoing mail; f-vf & Rare, certif. Tsachor-Aloni
