Upon arrival the cv was transferred to the Turkish Post instead of the Aust. Post, the Austrian franking was not tolerated and the cv was taxed 1pi Turk P. Dues (Mi 29) to pay double the Littoral rate of 20pa - tied by JAFFA pmk; small top opening faults o/w f - vf & Rare, certif Sorani, signed Tsachor-Aloni (Tax calculation: 2x20 pa the Littoral rate = 1 pi)

INCOMING: 17 MAI 1886 official stationery cv of the British Consulate Beirut (wax seal on back) franked on back total 10pi Turkish stps (10x Mi #47) to pay the 5x2pi  letter rate for each 10gr, all tied by pmks BEYROUTH TURQUIE, addressed to "Dr. Vartan Edinburgh Medical Mission Nazareth", the general hospital of the city of Nazareth was founded as a Christian mission by Dr.  Vartan and the  Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society in 1861; 3 stps w/faults, light toning around edges, f-vf , a most unusual incoming item
