Besieged Gush Etzion - family corresp. cv mailed from TLV addressed to "Gush Etzion Tel Aviv POB 2693 - for Hanan Heilbruner (driver) Kfar Etzion" franked 10m (#97) Mandate stp tied by TEL AVIV 13 AP 48 pmk; roughly opened at top, few tears, fine & very scarce, certif. Tsachor-Aloni
Besieged Gush Etzion - Flown Courier cover from the Gush - return address: "Uriel Ofek Massuot Yitzhak, Gush Etzion" under siege as of January 1948, the air strip was in service as of February 7, 1948 . The Gush surrendered to the Jordanian Legion on 13 May 1948. Cover addressed to Moshe Mosinsohn "Be'Ma'aleh" editor in Tel Aviv, on back a hand written note by the sender: "5 V - I returned safely from the battle, regards, Uri Cohen reached Tel Aviv, Uriel". The cv was received by permission of the Gush Etzion Archives, their cachet on back; roughly opened at top right resulting in uneven top, center fold typical to courier letters, fine & Rare, certif Tsachor-Aloni
Besieged Gush Etzion - Flown Courier cover from the Gush to TLV - return address: "Massuot Yitzhak, Gush Etzion, POBox 2693 Tel-Aviv", under siege as of January 1948, the air strip was in service as of February 7, 1948 . Cover addressed to Kvutzat Ma'ayan near Zichron, posted in Tel-Aviv franked 10m Minhelet Ha'am stamp (Ba #14) cancelled by Minhelet Ha'am Tel Aviv Violet postmark. Cover shortened at left 0.5 cm, photographed in "The Emergency, Local and Private Postal Services - Part 2" p. 203; fine & Rare, certif Tsachor-Aloni
