27.3.1948 surface rate Regist cv from German Russian Occup. zone to Tel Aviv, total franking 1.10 DM stps tied by pmks GRODITZ/RIESA, arrival pmk TLV 30.5.1948! cv carried by the S/S Kedma that left Genova 23 MAY & arrived in Haifa 26 MAY; roughly opened at left & 1 stp w/corner tear, fine Rare example of very early incoming surface mail accepted after the 25 March which was UPU's last day for this type of mail to Palestine

Double addressed cv Alger to R.L. Zion - ex Mr. Dahan to Mr. Bruno Cohn franked 5 Algerian stps pmkd ALGER 28.6.1948 but as postal relations Suspended cv was double addressed (in French) to the Jew. Agency in Paris from where mail addressed to Israel was couriered to the new State. The RLZ address was, in the 1st stage, covered by a piece of paper - staple holes right & left of "Mr. Bruno Cohn" show; scattered light spots, f - vf & scarce, see IFPL p. 123
